Charges Filed Against Individual Who Called for Violence Against Artsakh Residents and Politicians on Social Media
It has already been reported that on November 13, 2020, a user of the social media platform Facebook published a video message calling for violence against representatives of certain political forces and Artsakh residents. Following this incident, a criminal case was initiated on December 2 by the investigative department of the Yerevan city police under Article 226.2, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code, as announced by the Armenian Prosecutor's Office.
The individual was initially arrested, but later, based on a decision by the First Instance Court declaring the arrest unlawful, he was released. On December 8, this individual, identified as R.A., born in 1985, was summoned as a defendant for committing offenses provided for under Article 226.2, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code by the serious crimes investigation department of the Yerevan city investigative committee.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
