Russian Citizen Found Dead in Ankara

A Russian citizen, Vera Chikareva, has been found dead in the Çankaya district of Turkey's capital, Ankara. This information was reported by the TASS news agency, citing Turkish police.

The preliminary investigation has determined that the cause of death may have been a fall due to negligence. It has been noted that the woman was under the influence of alcohol, and while getting out of bed, she lost her balance and hit her head on a marble window sill while falling.

Investigators have reviewed footage from exterior surveillance cameras of the house where the 35-year-old Russian woman was residing. According to video evidence, Chikareva entered the apartment on November 30 and had not left since that day. There were also no visitors. The entrance door was locked from the inside.

Currently, the theory of murder is not being considered. However, clarity on the presence of any criminal elements in the incident will depend on the results of the forensic examination of the woman's body.

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, Chikareva had filed for divorce two months ago, wishing to separate from her 41-year-old husband, Salih G, who is a Turkish citizen. The divorce petition stated that her husband had been abusive and had threatened to take revenge. The source also published photos showing signs of violence on the woman's body and face.

The Turkish citizen has been called in for questioning. It was noted that the police discovered a large number of bottles of alcoholic beverages during their search of the home.
