Over 23,500 Refugees Return to Nagorno-Karabakh, Reports Russian Ministry of Defense

The number of refugees who have managed to return to Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers has exceeded 23,500, TASS reports citing the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"In total, 23,514 refugees have returned to Nagorno-Karabakh to their permanent residences," the military department stated in its report.

"The ceasefire regime is being maintained along the entire contact line." Russian peacekeepers are also continuing their efforts in demining the area in Nagorno-Karabakh.

In the past day, with the support of the Russian peacekeeping forces, 2,115 individuals returned to Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenian territory, Interfax reports, referencing the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"During the day, 2.85 km of roads in Stepanakert were cleared of unexploded ordnance, as well as 5.9 hectares of land. A total of 104 explosive objects were found and neutralized. Overall, 14.67 hectares of land, 5.5 km of roads, and 81 residential buildings have been cleared of mines in Nagorno-Karabakh, and 416 explosive objects have been identified and destroyed," the report added.
