Nikol Pashinyan Receives French Humanitarian Mission Delegation
Nikol Pashinyan today received Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and the delegation accompanying the humanitarian aid flight sent from France to the Armenian population of Artsakh. This was reported by the Prime Minister's office.
During the meeting with Secretary of State Lemoyne, the Prime Minister highly valued interactions with French President Emmanuel Macron and expressed gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided to the Armenian community in Artsakh. "We thank our friend France for accurately presenting the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh to the international community and for providing humanitarian support," mentioned Nikol Pashinyan.
Secretary of State Lemoyne noted that in line with the spirit of Armenian-French friendship, the French President reaffirms his commitment to continue providing humanitarian support to the Armenian population of Artsakh. To this end, France is sending its second humanitarian mission.
Lemoyne stated that France is willing to assist in the preservation of Armenian religious and cultural heritage that has passed under Azerbaijani control. The interlocutors emphasized the importance of assistance provided by international humanitarian organizations.
Subsequently, the Prime Minister met with the members of the delegation accompanying the humanitarian aid flight sent from France to Artsakh. Welcoming them, Nikol Pashinyan remarked, "Dear colleagues, I highly appreciate the mission you have come with. We have always felt the support of our friend France. The activities of the Armenian community in France, which they carry out in Armenia, are also of particular significance to us. In this regard, we never doubted that the Armenian community of France and you would rush to stand by Armenia and Artsakh. I want to thank you for that mission. Of course, we are going through difficult times now, and I am confident that with the support of our friends and compatriots, Armenia and Artsakh will overcome this challenging situation."
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the warm words and introduced the members of the delegation, which includes representatives from state, international humanitarian, private organizations, and the Armenian community in France, including Yuri Djorkaeff, goodwill ambassador for the sake of Armenia, and leaders from the Aznavour Foundation.
In their remarks, delegation members emphasized that Armenia and Artsakh can fully rely on the support of France and the Armenian community in France, which attests to the close friendship between Armenians and French people and will continue.
The Prime Minister thanked the members of the French humanitarian aid delegation for their supportive words and efforts, and asked them to convey his warm greetings and words of gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron.
