Hassan Rouhani Blames Israel for Assassination of Notable Nuclear Physicist
The President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, has condemned the assassination of prominent nuclear physicist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh and attributed the act to the "Zionist regime." According to the Iranian Irna agency, Rouhani stated that this assassination reflects the impotence of Iran's enemies.
"Certainly, this act of terrorism demonstrates our enemies' helplessness against Iran's scientific development and capabilities, as well as their continuous failures in the region and other political arenas. Our enemies must know that the murder of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh will not thwart the will of Iranian youth and scientists to continue the paths of scientific development, but rather their determination will be even stronger," said the Iranian president.
According to him, the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh reveals the depth of hatred and malice of Iran's adversaries; however, his death will not slow down the country's scientific achievements.
Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a nuclear physicist and head of the Organization for Research and Innovation under the Iranian Ministry of Defense, was killed in the assassination attempt in Iran. Earlier reports from the Iranian ISNA agency indicated that information regarding the physicist's assassination had been circulated on social media in the Tehran province.
Fakhrizadeh was one of five Iranians included in the list of the 500 most influential people in the world, according to the American magazine Foreign Policy. This was not the first attempt on his life.
