France Mobilizes State Structures and NGOs to Support Armenia, Says French Foreign Affairs Secretary
France is offering its support to Armenia to overcome the current challenging situation, as evidenced by the humanitarian aid imported from France to Armenia. This was stated by French Foreign Affairs Secretary Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne during a meeting with journalists on November 28.
“A total of 25 tons of humanitarian cargo has been brought from France to Armenia. Both state structures and non-governmental organizations, associations, and foundations have been mobilized for this operation. For example, the 'Aznavour' Foundation and local government bodies in France are involved. Also present is Youri Djorkaeff, who symbolizes our friendly relations and has graciously taken on the role of goodwill ambassador. I should note that this mobilization reminds me of 1988 when there was a great unification to support Armenia after the earthquake,” said the French Foreign Affairs Secretary.
Kristina Aznavour, the executive director of the 'Aznavour' Foundation, mentioned that the humanitarian aid transported by airplane from France mainly includes warm clothing, blankets, hygiene products provided by the Veolia Foundation, and medical equipment and supplies. The humanitarian aid also contains items intended for reconstruction, provided by the organization 'Electricians Without Borders.'
