Authorities Must Avoid Keeping Public in Uncertainty: Human Rights Defender
The authorities are obliged to explain in detail what specific developments or solutions are planned regarding our country’s borders following this war. This was reported by the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia.
The publication fully presents the following:
“The authorities must explain in detail what specific developments or solutions are planned regarding our country’s borders after this war. They should not do this merely to mitigate the consequences of unexpected developments related to our country’s security or to reduce public outrage regarding these unforeseen situations.
It should be realized that this concerns the defense of our state, the physical security and safety of our people and every individual. The public cannot be kept in a state of uncertainty, creating panic among people, especially the residents of border villages, and disrupting their mental integrity, keeping people in constant tension.
These are direct obligations of the state, positive obligations towards every individual.”
