Amberd Fortress and Lake Qari Roads Impassable, Ministry of Emergency Situations Reports

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that the roadways within the territory of Armenia are passable. However, the roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Lake Qari in the Aragatsotn region are currently impassable.

According to information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles.

Information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia indicates that the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The prohibition does not apply to freight transport.

Motorists are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
