Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today in a video address that the political forces criticizing the November 9 statement are not saying whether they propose to abandon it and the agreements contained therein. If so, what scenario do they envision afterward and what consequences would that scenario bring?

“I want to emphasize that what is happening these days is the process of implementing the November 9 agreement. This process implies that the Armed Forces of Armenia, including those in the Gegharkunik region, must be stationed at the state border of Armenia, which is known to us in the form of the borders of Soviet Armenia. I am now speaking about the area of Karvachar. That border is determined not by eye measurement, but by GPS coordinates. As explained, the Sotk deposit is partially located in Soviet Armenia and partially in Soviet Azerbaijan,” said the Prime Minister.

Pashinyan noted that border demarcation is quite a complex process, and whether one likes it or not, it must occur with the participation of both Russian peacekeepers and representatives from Azerbaijan. According to the Prime Minister, every time panic is instigated among the public regarding this work, misinformation and a sense of chaos is spread for one purpose: they want to transfer war to Armenia because they are accustomed to come to power with blood and maintain their power through blood. Pashinyan emphasized that the people will not allow this.

“I want to emphasize that the law enforcement agencies of Armenia fully understand the situation and will not allow this. I also want to thank the employees of the law enforcement agencies for their work during this time. This includes employees of the NSS, the police, the State Protection Service, investigative bodies, and the prosecution. Please be assured that we are making every effort to protect the interests of Armenia and Artsakh in this difficult situation. The vision of chaos is also spread for this purpose, to prevent the government from concentrating maximum efforts on resolving numerous urgent issues, and in all this, the aim is to create a barrier between the government and the people, which they have not managed to do so far,” stated the Prime Minister.
