Search Operations Continue in the Southern Sector of Hadrut: Human Rights Defender of Artsakh
In recent days, search operations have also been carried out in the southern sector, in Hadrut, where bodies have been exchanged or found. This was stated by Artsakh's Human Rights Defender Artak Beglaryan during an online discussion.
He noted that the identity of the deceased is determined as follows: the body is transferred to forensic authorities, from where images are shared with the relatives of the missing persons. If decomposition has occurred to the extent that facial identification is impossible, DNA analysis is conducted using samples from the bodies and their relatives.
“At this moment, we have bodies whose identity has not yet been established, and we are awaiting the results of DNA analysis. I hope that as a result of this process, the number of missing persons will decrease,” emphasized the Defender.
Referring to the situation of prisoners of war held by the Armenian side, Beglaryan stated that there have been no complaints regarding their conditions of detention or treatment, which, according to him, indicates that the Armenian side is fulfilling its international obligations.
