The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia reports that Nurlan Ibrahimov, the spokesperson for Azerbaijan's 'Karabakh' football club, has been involved as a suspect in an ongoing criminal case and is now wanted. This information was shared in a statement by the Investigative Committee.

"In the Criminalistics Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, investigations are ongoing regarding serious violations of international humanitarian law by the military-political leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan during the aggressive war and armed conflicts unleashed along the contact line with the Republic of Artsakh, including acts considered serious violations, issuing criminal orders during armed conflict, and cases of mercenarism. A substantial investigation and other procedural actions are being carried out by a team of investigators from the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia and the Investigative Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia related to the criminal case initiated," the statement reads.

On November 26 of this year, a decision was made to involve Nurlan Ibrahimov, an Azerbaijani citizen and spokesperson for the 'Karabakh' football club, as a suspect for inciting national and racial hostility (Article 226 of the RA Criminal Code), directly and publicly instigating genocide (Article 393.1, Part 2, Clause 1 of the RA Criminal Code), and for justifying and approving genocide and other crimes directed against peace and humanity (Article 373.1 of the RA Criminal Code). A wanted notice has been issued for Ibrahimov, and on the same day, a petition was submitted to the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan for his detention as a preventive measure," it adds.

Notice: A suspect or accused of a presumed crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia by a legally effective court judgment.

It is noteworthy that on November 26, it became known that UEFA has banned Nurlan Ibrahimov, the spokesperson of Azerbaijani 'Karabakh' football club, for life from football-related activities. This decision was made by UEFA's Ethics and Disciplinary Committee. In addition, UEFA has fined the 'Karabakh' football club 100,000 euros.
