"On September 27, during a special session on martial law, I asked the Prime Minister, 'Mr. Prime Minister, we did not recognize it because we were afraid that a war would start, the war has started, can we now recognize Artsakh?' The Prime Minister replied that this issue has now entered the political agenda at your suggestion. After the war, several political forces approached me asking, 'let's recognize the independence of Artsakh.' I contacted the President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, and he said that it's a good proposal, but it might disrupt the war process, so let’s wait a bit longer,' this was stated today in the National Assembly by the leader of the Bright Armenia faction, Edmon Marukyan.

According to him, for eight years, Zarouhie Postanjyan has presented a bill on recognizing Artsakh's independence in the National Assembly. 'I have been a deputy for 8 years; I cannot comment on before that. Over these 8 years, Zarouhie Postanjyan has initiated recognizing the independence of Artsakh, and we have been told off the record that the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are against our recognition. Other initiatives were discussed afterwards, and the same response was given,' he added.
