No Incursion Inside the Republic of Armenia's Border. No New Concessions Have Taken Place. Ruben Rubinyan

I know that many of you have the impression that Azerbaijanis have violated the state border of the Republic of Armenia without hindrance in connection with today's events around the Sotk mine, leading to a feeling of defenselessness and disorganization. I completely understand that. But the reality is different,” wrote Ruben Rubinyan, a member of the Armenian parliament, on his Facebook page.

“In fact, delimitation works are being carried out in this area, part of which is taking place in the part of the Sotk mine that, according to the November 10 declaration, falls within the territory of Azerbaijan, specifically the Kalbacar region. This means that there has been no incursion into the territory of the Republic of Armenia. No new concessions have been made. The issue is that our relevant authorities did not explain this in a timely manner. They did not clarify that nothing new has occurred in this area that is outside the framework of the November 10 declaration.”

“In the coming days, I will do everything within my power to ensure that the authorities communicate developments more quickly, unequivocally, and clearly. But this post is not about that. The end of the war was heavy. The consequences stemming from the November 10 declaration are also severe. But this should not mean, under any circumstances, that we must lose faith in Armenia, lose faith in ourselves, consider ourselves incapable or hopeless, or surrender. You may lose faith in officials, in the government, in the opposition, in politics, or in me, but believe in Armenia and in yourselves. Surrender is not an option.”
