Aurora Organizes New International Fundraising for Artsakh

The Aurora international humanitarian initiative continues to provide urgent assistance to the affected residents of Artsakh during the war. According to Armenpress, the IDeA Foundation reports that 20 projects have already been confirmed with a total budget of 102 million drams (200,000 USD). The projects are implemented in collaboration with charitable foundations and state organizations operating locally.

Aurora has also announced the launch of a new international fundraising effort through its main principles of work and the #AraratChallenge movement. In addition to financial support requests and donations, proposals for volunteer and expert assistance are also accepted, along with applications for those in need of aid.

The first list of volunteer-directed projects will be announced on December 1. Already approved projects include: support for individuals forcibly displaced from Shushi, resettlement in Stepanakert and other areas of Artsakh (in collaboration with the Shushi Narikatsi Art Union and the Hrant Matevosyan Foundation) for 12,500 USD (6.4 million drams); provision of humanitarian emergency assistance to seven communities in the Martakert region (Nor Maragh, Nor Aigestan, Nor Seysulan, Nor Karmiravan, Nor Haykajur, Hovtashen, and Nor Jraberd) for 10,000 USD (5.1 million drams); delivery of 1,000 bedding packages for individuals temporarily relocated to Armenia from Artsakh for 12,700 USD (6.5 million drams); production of 500 warm jackets for residents of Artsakh at a tailoring factory in Stepanakert for 12,000 USD (6.1 million drams); a support program for 600 families from Artsakh affected by the war (in collaboration with the Good Mama Foundation) for 10,000 USD (5.1 million drams); and acquisition of 200 heaters for families temporarily relocated from Artsakh for 2,500 USD (1.3 million drams).

Projects in the area of medical assistance include: support for the restoration of X-ray equipment at Stepanakert Republican Hospital for 10,500 USD (5.4 million drams); support for the Travelling Doctors of Armenia organization to provide medical services at home for the injured in hard-to-reach areas of Artsakh and Armenia for 10,000 USD (5.1 million drams); acquisition of ambulances for Artsakh (in collaboration with the Support Our Heroes Foundation) for 20,000 USD (10.2 million drams); procurement of vital medications for the elderly residing in Artsakh (in collaboration with the Miaysin Foundation) for 2,000 USD (1 million drams); and purchase of 55 folding beds for displaced persons from Artsakh (in collaboration with the VIVA Foundation) for 3,000 USD (1.5 million drams).

Additionally, there are projects aimed at restoration and furnishing, including support for the restoration of Martakert Number 1 Secondary School (in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Artsakh) for 20,000 USD (10.2 million drams); support for the Martuni City Hall for the restoration of Mesrop Mashtots Number 2 School damaged by shelling for 20,000 USD (10.2 million drams); support for establishing a bakery in Stepanakert that will provide free bread for six months and create new jobs (in collaboration with the Tikinq Initiative Group) for 10,000 USD (5.1 million drams); furnishing a dormitory in Stepanakert for the temporary accommodation of displaced Artsakh residents for 10,000 USD (5.1 million drams); and support for the Stepanakert City Hall for the restoration of civil infrastructure for 10,000 USD (5.1 million drams).

Several projects are also planned concerning food provision.
