Reports on Armenian Soldiers Being in Iran Not Confirmed

Reports regarding the presence of Armenian soldiers in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran have not been confirmed. This was stated by MP and head of the Armenia-Iran Friendship Group, Mkhihtar Hayrapetyan, on his Facebook page.

“As you know, in recent days, there have been rumors circulating on social media that some Armenian servicemen are in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Although both the Republic of Armenia and Iran have not confirmed this information in their official statements, I continue to receive letters from our citizens demanding clarification on the veracity of these reports. As the head of the Armenia-Iran Friendship Group, I have had several phone conversations with various colleagues in recent days, and just a short while ago, I also met with the Armenian Ambassador to Iran, Artashes Tumanyan, who stated that at this time, the aforementioned reports have not been confirmed,” he wrote.
