According to Us, Attacks on the Human Rights Defender are Coordinated by Officials

The social media landscape is inundated with fake pages filled with derogatory insults and hate speech. This issue pertains to organized attacks with specific goals and targets. This was stated by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia.

He specifically mentioned, “Such attacks are periodically organized against the activities of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia. Based on our substantiated assumptions, the recent attacks on the Human Rights Defender are being organized or coordinated by high-ranking officials. Moreover, according to the findings of the studies conducted by the Human Rights Defender's office, some of these officials personally manage fake pages and disseminate hatred, threats, and insults from these accounts. It turns out that we are essentially dealing with the organization and management of centers of hatred.

These officials are strongly warned to immediately cease these extremely dangerous actions, which are not justified by any legal status, including the attacks on the activities of the Human Rights Defender. Unfortunately, this vicious phenomenon has significantly increased in scale over the past two years, acquiring a structured and institutional nature.

I had hoped that in these responsible times, such developments would be excluded, considering our collective solidarity and respect for each other's speech and dignity, and the imperative to resolve all issues based on that principle. But this did not happen, and now we are faced with a situation that grossly violates the mental inviolability of individuals, directly guaranteed by Article 25 of the Constitution, is harmful to the health of society, and the atmosphere of solidarity in the country, and during these days, may undermine the foundations of our country’s security.”
