We Must Reform Our Mindset to Achieve Our Goals: Prime Minister Introduces New Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has visited the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport to introduce the newly appointed minister, Vahram Dumanyan. The Prime Minister thanked the former minister, Arayik Harutyunyan, for his work and wished Vahram Dumanyan success in his new role.

“Dear colleagues, we talk a lot about the degree of institutional maturity in the country, and my belief is that all our problems are connected to the degree of institutional maturity. But I also believe it is crucial for us not to overlook the mindset as an institution. I think we should examine this issue overall, understand, and envision what kind of mindset we are guided by, how much that institution corresponds to our needs, demands, and interests, and of course, what kind of reforms the mindset needs in order to achieve the goals we are formulating,” the Prime Minister noted in his speech.

Arayik Harutyunyan expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport team for their joint efforts, stating that the institution has formed and is in good working condition. According to him, the response to the situation created during the war and the COVID period was appropriate, thanks to the people working in this department. He thanked Prime Minister Pashinyan for the support shown to the ministry's activities and mentioned, “The reforms that have begun in the ministry will have a positive and benevolent impact on domestic relations, on our economy, and on our position in international relations. And, in my opinion, the solid foundation that has been laid should be continuous.”

The former minister expressed willingness to share accumulated experience and information with the newly appointed minister to aid the reform process.

In turn, the new Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Vahram Dumanyan, thanked the Prime Minister for his trust, stating, “I have fully and responsibly agreed to accept the offer and am touched by this trust. I am ready to devote all my efforts to our state, to our country, and do my utmost in this field.” He also expressed gratitude to Arayik Harutyunyan for his willingness to collaborate.

At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wished his colleagues success in their future work.
