During the visit of the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Peter Maurer, to Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a proposal to make a voluntary contribution of 2 million euros to support ICRC's work in Nagorno-Karabakh. This statement was made on Tuesday, November 24, during a meeting with reporters by Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, whose press conference was broadcast on the Russia-24 television channel.

“Recently, the President of the Red Cross visited Moscow and shared with us his plans regarding projects being implemented in that region. President Putin approved the proposal for the new voluntary contribution of two million euros, which Russia will transfer to the ICRC to be directed towards the activities of this organization in Nagorno-Karabakh and its surrounding areas,” Lavrov noted.

Speaking about the humanitarian needs in the region, Lavrov also emphasized Moscow's daily collaboration with dozens of international organizations, especially those that are part of the UN system.
