Erdogan and Putin Discuss Establishment of a Ceasefire Monitoring Center in Nagorno-Karabakh

The Presidents of Turkey and Russia, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin, have held a phone conversation in which they discussed the establishment of a ceasefire monitoring center in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Turkish leader's administration.

In the statement from Erdogan's office, it is noted that during his conversation with Putin, Erdogan emphasized that "for the resolution of the crisis in Karabakh and ensuring stability in the region, it is necessary for the joint monitoring center to be established with Russia to start its operations as soon as possible."

It is reminded that on November 10, Nikol Pashinyan signed a trilateral statement, according to which seven regions of Artsakh, Shushi, and Hadrut pass to Azerbaijan, with the exception of one village from the districts of Askeran and Martuni, as well as the villages of Talish and Madaghis in the Martakert region.

According to that statement, the peacekeeping force of the Russian Federation is stationed along the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor, including 1,960 servicemen armed with small arms, 90 armored vehicles, and 380 units of automotive and special equipment. The deployment of the Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh has already been completed.
