Disagreements Arise Between Russia and Turkey Over Artsakh

Disagreements have emerged between Turkey and Russia regarding the deployment of peacekeepers in Artsakh. This was reported by ermenihaber.am.

The issues stem from Turkey's desire to establish an observation post independent of the Russian-Turkish joint coordination center.

According to Reuters, negotiations regarding the parameters of the joint monitoring mission between Turkey and Russia are still ongoing. "Russia believes it is not mandatory for Turkey to set up an observation post in the region that would operate independently from the joint center. However, this is fundamental for Turkey," a representative of the Turkish side stated in an interview with the agency.

As clarified by the source, discussions on this matter will continue in Moscow.

It is important to note that on November 11, the defense ministries of Russia and Turkey signed a memorandum regarding the creation of a joint monitoring center that will oversee adherence to the ceasefire regime in Nagorno-Karabakh. The center will be located in Azerbaijan's territory. Meanwhile, Russian peacekeepers have established 23 observation posts in the region.
