President of Armenia Discusses Current Situation with Representatives of Society

President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian held a meeting over the weekend with representatives of society, including political scientists, analysts, journalists, and public and cultural figures. This was reported by the Office of the President of Armenia.

During the discussion, which lasted more than two hours, President Sarkissian and the participants exchanged thoughts on the current situation in the country, the numerous challenges faced—including economic, domestic political, moral-psychological issues, and the coronavirus pandemic—and the possible ways to overcome the existing crisis.

The importance of maintaining stability in the country and the necessary systemic solidification of state institutions and structures were emphasized. Particular attention was given to the intolerance prevalent on social media and the dangerous abundance of fake news and fake accounts, as well as the unacceptable division of the populace and the polarized nature of society.

Participants raised numerous questions to the President and expressed their views regarding the existing situation in the country and potential solutions for moving forward.
