Construction Ministry to Implement Immediate Measures for Renovation of Damaged Housing

The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, held an expanded working consultation in the center of Askeran with the participation of community leaders and administration officials. The country’s leader addressed the consequences of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan on September 27, emphasizing that normal life must be restored as soon as possible.

In this context, President Harutyunyan highlighted that the Construction Ministry will take immediate measures for the renovation of housing damaged as a result of shelling. According to Harutyunyan, the inventory of available housing stock in the communities should be completed swiftly, necessary renovation work should be carried out in a short timeframe, and displaced citizens should be provided with household furnishings until the construction of permanent housing is completed.

He instructed the head of the administration to ensure that there is a responsible person in the operational headquarters of the Artsakh government in Armenia, who will deal with the social issues of residents who have become homeless and found temporary shelter in Armenia.

During the meeting, issues concerning the resumption of school and preschool institutions' operations at the beginning of the year, providing social guarantees to the population to overcome the dire situation, and organizing autumn planting were also discussed.
