Azerbaijani Officer Dies in Mine Explosion in Nagorno-Karabakh

The Russian Ministry of Defense has reported that an Azerbaijani officer has died due to a mine explosion in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"A mine detonated during operations in the area of the Mataghis settlement. As a result of the explosion, a Russian serviceman from the peacekeeping forces was wounded. One officer from the Azerbaijani Armed Forces has died. Four other employees from the Emergency Situations Ministry of Nagorno-Karabakh have sustained injuries of varying severity. The Russian serviceman has been transferred to Baku, where he is receiving necessary medical assistance. His life is not in danger," the statement said.
