Police Use Force Against Protesters in Minsk and Several Other Regions
Protests have once again occurred today in the capital of Belarus, Minsk, and in several other regions of the country, where the police have applied force against protesters demanding the resignation of Alexander Lukashenko.
According to the information from the "Vesna" human rights center operating in Minsk, at least 19 protesters have been arrested since the start of the demonstration under the slogan "No to Fascism." Among those arrested, the youngest is a school student, while the oldest is 83 years old, report Belarusian human rights defenders.
According to eyewitnesses, the police used special measures, including flashbangs, to disperse around 300 protesters gathered near a shopping center in one of the suburbs of Minsk.
