Dates for Final Examinations Announced by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia has established the dates and procedures for the organization of state final examinations scheduled for December 2020 of the academic year 2020-2021 through order No. 1645-A/2 dated November 18, 2020.

Students in the 12th grade will be able to take the state final examinations in December for the subjects they did not select or study in the second semester. Accordingly, the schedule for the state final examinations in the 12th grade is as follows:

  • Written exam in "Armenian Language and Literature" on December 22, 2020
  • Written exam in "Mathematics" on December 24, 2020
  • Written exam in "History of Armenia" on December 26, 2020
  • Oral exam in "Native Language and Literature" (for national minority classes) during the examination period
  • Oral exam in Russian ("Russian Language", "Russian Literature") during the examination period (for classes taught in Russian)

Students participating in the Unified Examination can take state final examinations in December for subjects that they will not be taking through the unified examination system. If a student takes both the unified and state final examination in the same subject, the grade for the unified examination will be recorded in the secondary education certificate.

To participate in the state final examinations taking place in December, students must submit a written application to their educational institution’s director by December 1. In the case of remote education, applications can also be submitted via email.

The tests for the final examination subjects in the 12th grade are prepared by the Educational Assessment and Testing Center, with tasks selected from repositories certified by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, as well as from textbooks or materials used in educational institutions.

The question sets and forms for oral examinations in Russian ("Russian Language", "Russian Literature") for relevant classes taught in Russian, and for the subject of "Native Language and Literature" (oral, for national minorities) are developed by the subject methodological units of the respective educational institution based on the textbooks and materials approved by the Ministry.

Upon request from students in classes taught in Russian, the tests for the state final examination in "Mathematics" can also be prepared in Russian.

Students with special educational needs will complete their education based on assessments conducted through an individual learning plan (ILP).

State final examinations will be conducted in person at educational institutions, with each institution serving as an examination center. Participants in the examination will be divided into groups. The number of students in each group shall not exceed 20, strictly adhering to anti-epidemic regulations and social distancing.
