Archbishop Parghev's Condition Stable, Surgery Successful

The Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the USA, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, has reported that Archbishop Parghev Martirosyan, the Primate of Artsakh, has successfully undergone surgery at a hospital in Los Angeles.

In a post on the Western Diocese's Facebook page, it was also noted: "Archbishop Hovnan Derderian and the faithful are praying and wishing for a speedy recovery for Archbishop Parghev Martirosyan, Primate of the Artsakh Diocese."

It was previously announced that Archbishop Parghev had suffered a heart attack. Investigations at the Izmirlian Medical Center revealed that the heart attack had occurred while he was on his feet. This was the first heart attack recorded by doctors while the Archbishop was in the USA for a fundraising event for the Armenian General Benevolent Union.
