Rested to Avoid Madness. Mrs. Rita Could Not Witness All That Happens. Vigen Sargsyan

Former Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan made a post on his Facebook page regarding the passing of Rita Sargsyan, the wife of the third president of Armenia, Serge Sargsyan.

He stated, "Rested to avoid madness: Mrs. Rita could not witness all that happens in Artsakh and Armenia. She faced the significant betrayals and petty malice directed at her and her family without bitterness, but could not reconcile with the reality of the orphaned Dadivank, the sounds of prayer and mugham in Shushi, and the situation of a displaced people.

Thanks to Mrs. Rita's devotion and efforts, tens of thousands of individuals and families have found happiness, from children receiving treatment and care in leukemia and autism centers to wounded soldiers being rehabilitated at the Veterans' House and families blessed with children through artificial insemination thanks to the "Aragil" foundation.

During the most difficult years of the war, Mrs. Rita, who raised her daughters in the shelters of Stepanakert and did not move to Yerevan with then-Defense Minister Serge Sargsyan, could not come to terms with this betrayal, delusion, deceit, and moral decay. May God illuminate your soul, Great Armenian Woman."
