Arthur Danielyan, Narek Malyan, and Mihran Hakobyan Arrested, Lawyer Says
Leader of the Adequate Social Movement, Arthur Danielyan, founder of the VETO party, Narek Malyan, and civic-political figure Mihran Hakobyan have been arrested, according to their lawyer Tigran Atanesyan. The suspicion against them is based on Article 225, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (organization of mass disturbances), following their exit from the investigative department of the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district.
“This is a ridiculous suspicion on which they cannot be arrested. The punishment is such that it should not be applied to them, as Arthur's and Mihran's children are young, and the law prohibits their arrest. This is simply a disgrace. This is a legal meat grinder that the rogue traitor idol has spread in our country. Remember, we live in a happy Armenia where the law has been nullified. We are strong in our fight against this decision; the arrest will be appealed, and we await the response of the judicial system,” stated the lawyer.
It is noteworthy that during protests in Yerevan demanding the Prime Minister's resignation, 80 individuals have been detained. A similar action took place in Gyumri, where 8 participants were also detained.
