Video: Serj Tankian on the Civilized Enemy Before the Armenian People, War, and New Songs

World-renowned rock musician and lead singer of the band System of a Down, Serj Tankian, emphasizes the importance of actively continuing the information campaign related to the Artsakh war, showcasing the aggression of Azerbaijan and Turkey to the world. He stated that foreigners need to be informed about the current situation in Artsakh.

"Azerbaijanis, along with Turkey, have attacked Artsakh with mercenaries. They are continuously bombarding Stepanakert, Shushi, Martakert, and other cities and towns. We are doing everything we can for people worldwide to understand what is happening there. We are trying to urge them to make genuine decisions, discuss with their governmental representatives, impose sanctions on both Turkey and Azerbaijan, and ultimately recognize Artsakh as a state," said Serj Tankian.

The famous rock musician noted that there is no civilized enemy before the Armenian people. He emphasized the need to be vigilant and show the world that this is the same Turkish regime that attempted to annihilate Armenians 105 years ago. Now, with their bombs, they seek to destroy the people of Artsakh.

"For the first time, Armenians are standing up as one people. Our voices are sounding louder, and we can reap significant benefits this way. We must continue this momentum as a unified voice. It is essential for foreigners to understand what is happening in Artsakh. Through social media and letters, we must show that there is a disaster in Artsakh, that the enemy is using prohibited weapons, threatening the existence of Armenians," Tankian stressed.

The artist highlighted that the world must understand that this is not just an Armenian issue, as there are international matters at stake, such as terrorism, environmental disasters, and human rights violations. He deemed the recognition of Artsakh vital but emphasized that it should not be the sole method of protecting the people of Artsakh; the issue of human rights violations is equally crucial.

The musical contribution of System of a Down is a significant step in the information and propaganda work. The band released two new songs on November 6, addressing the happenings in Artsakh and the topic of terrorism. Tankian recalled that during the April war in 2016, he wrote a song titled "Artsakh" that accurately depicted the situation of the Artsakh people.

"Now, new songs are coming, and we have recorded two songs as a band. Our guitarist wrote a song for the soldiers called 'Protect The Land.' He said, let’s work on this song together. That’s exactly what we did and completed it. We also released another song about the terrorists. All proceeds will go to the Armenia Fund. In the near future, we will be holding more fundraising events. We also want to visit Armenia soon. We are with you, confident that we will win, standing by your side; the diaspora is ready. Furthermore, this activity should continue for our people in the future," added Serj Tankian.
