VIDEO: If I found a way to get to the front lines from the U.S., anyone can find it – American-Armenian doctor
It was Saturday evening when Alik Gevorgyan, an Armenian-American, heard from friends during a family gathering that a war had started in Artsakh. A maxillofacial surgeon living in the United States for over ten years decided that if the military operations prolonged, he would return to his homeland and engage in his professional activities at the front lines. Days later, he arrived in Armenia and was already at the front on October 9.
“My wife was a bit worried about my decision because I have three children. Like any wife, she reacted by asking whether I had thought well about leaving the kids and going to a place that isn’t safe. We agreed that I had to go; Armenia is my homeland, where I was born, received my education, spent my youth, and have relatives. Considering that my sister’s son is a conscript and is at the front lines, I couldn't justify not coming,” Dr. Gevorgyan shared in an interview with NEWS.am.
