Vehicle Carrying Food and Clothes for Soldiers Stolen in Yerevan

On October 4, a case of car theft occurred in Yerevan. Around 20:40, a resident of the Armavir region, 29-year-old Hakob P., reported to the Kanaker-Zeytun police department that on the same day, at approximately 20:20, an unknown person or persons had stolen his VAZ 21010 vehicle parked near 22/7 Tbilisi Highway.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, the vehicle bore Russian license plates. A response team from the Kanaker-Zeytun police department, led by an investigator from the investigative division, arrived at the scene. The police have begun preparations on the case, but as of today, neither the vehicle nor the perpetrator(s) have been found.

According to sources, Hakob P. works as an assistant warehouseman for one of the companies operating in Yerevan. The vehicle was loaded with food that, according to him, was meant for soldiers.

The owner’s brother, who wished to remain anonymous, stated, "The incident occurred on October 4, around 19:30; it was a regular convoy of soldiers heading to their positions (we won’t disclose the location). I parked my car near a bistro to pick up food for the troops. The vehicle was loaded with food and clothes destined for the border. Just as I went into the bistro, my brother told me that the car had been taken. We pursued them in another vehicle, but I had already notified the police that my car had been stolen and provided them with the route they had taken. Unfortunately, we couldn't catch up with them. The incident happened on the 4th, and ten days have passed without any news. Later they informed me that the case has been handed over to an investigator, but I’m not sure which department it’s been transferred to. Now I've received a notice that the case has been sent to the Kanaker-Zeytun prosecutor's office. I urge law enforcement to solve the crime as soon as possible."
