Putin and Erdogan Discuss Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh
The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held a telephone conversation at the initiative of the Turkish side, during which, among other issues, the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh was discussed. This was reported by the Kremlin's press service.
"The developments in the conflict zone of Nagorno-Karabakh have been discussed. The Russian side expressed deep concern regarding the ongoing military operations, as well as the more extensive involvement of terrorists from the Middle East," the statement reads.
Vladimir Putin informed about the efforts being made to establish communication with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia to achieve an immediate ceasefire and to de-escalate the crisis.
It was agreed to continue coordination between the foreign and defense ministries of Russia and Turkey, as well as their intelligence services.
