Erdogan Takes Legal Action Over Dutch Politician's Mocking Cartoon and Statement
WRed
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has today filed a complaint with the Turkish Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Geert Wilders, the leader of the Dutch Freedom Party. The legal action was prompted by Wilders posting a mocking cartoon of Erdoğan on Twitter and calling him a terrorist. This was reported by the Anadolu Agency.
The complaint was submitted on behalf of the Turkish President by his lawyer, Hüseyin Aydın. The legal filing states that the cartoon published by the Dutch politician has nothing to do with freedom of expression. Erdoğan demands the initiation of a criminal case against Geert Wilders for violating the honor and dignity of the Turkish President.
