I Believe That Yes, the Armenian People Are Ready for Compromises, But Under No Circumstances Are They Ready for Capitulation
Currently, Azerbaijan is not seeking a resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue but is looking for at least the capitulation of Karabakh. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a live broadcast on Facebook.
“Now I want us to clearly answer a question: Is the Armenian people ready for compromises? I believe that yes, the Armenian people are ready for compromises. I can say that the Armenian people are even ready for painful compromises, but is the Armenian people ready for capitulation? I believe that under no circumstances is the Armenian people ready for capitulation. The Armenian people must find resources to resist and defend their rights,” he said.
Pashinyan emphasized that we must be capable of acting close to our interests' red lines, but on the other hand, it is unimaginable that the Armenian people would go for capitulation. “Therefore, we need to find resources to defend our interests. We must ensure that Azerbaijan’s demand is not for the capitulation of Karabakh but for a compromise that is acceptable to Baku. Azerbaijan has not been prepared for compromises, and now it is even less so, which hinders the resolution of the issue,” he added.
