Consumer Protection Commission Addresses Military Uniform Price Hikes
In response to the information circulating in the media and social networks regarding the increase in prices of military uniforms, the Republic of Armenia’s Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition has investigated the issue. The Commission has released a statement on the matter.
“Several businesses specializing in sales have assured the Commission that they have not only refrained from raising prices for military uniforms but, in some cases, are selling them at reduced prices. Under these circumstances, some resellers have been able to acquire products at lower prices and sell them at a higher cost. Efforts are currently underway by the Commission to identify and locate these sellers. Processes are ongoing to detect possible violations,” the statement reads.
The Commission also urges citizens to be more vigilant when purchasing goods. In cases of unjustified price increases, citizens should immediately document the price, product, and business entity involved, and contact the Commission. Businesses are also encouraged to refrain from raising prices without justification, as heavy financial penalties will be imposed for detected violations.
