Artsakh MFA's Diaspora Department Head Yervand Hajiayan Killed on the Frontline
Yervand Hajiayan, the head of the Diaspora Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, has been killed during military operations in Artsakh. This information was reported by the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh.
“He died on the frontline, where he volunteered to go at the very beginning of the new war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh. A man who deeply loved Armenia and Artsakh as its integral part has passed away. He was a person who selflessly dedicated himself to his homeland, his people, and his family. The character of Yervand as a true patriot was shaped in the family of the well-known Artsakh political scientist and journalist Mikael Hajiayan, who did not separate his life from the fate of Artsakh; it was within the family where he became a true citizen of his republic.
And when a new danger hung over the Republic of Artsakh, Yervand, without hesitation or delay, followed the example of his older brother Norayr, who became a participant in the first Karabakh war at a very young age from 1992-94, and in April 2016 participated as a volunteer in the war and was martyred. Yervand proved himself worthy of his heroic brother's memory by dedicating his life to the independence of Artsakh and the dignified life of his compatriots.
Throughout his twenty-year career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, Yervand Hajiayan distinguished himself with high professionalism and vast knowledge, along with a conscientious and responsible attitude toward work. Being a diligent person, he devoted himself entirely to work, applying all his professional knowledge and organizational skills to solve the tasks set before him. All the employees of our agency have consistently highlighted his character as an educated individual, emphasizing his marked decency and virtue, respect for colleagues, and his ability to listen to and value their opinions.
The vivid memory of our friend and colleague as a true patriot, a professional, and a good person will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, Yervand.
In this difficult time, the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh expresses its deepest condolences to Yervand's family, relatives, and loved ones, wishing them strength of spirit, courage, and patience.”
