Putin is Informed About Appeals Directed to Him Regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh Issue - Peskov
Russia is one of the countries that could act as a mediator and resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the President of the Russian Federation, in response to a question on whether the Kremlin agrees with the thesis that only Russia is capable of stopping the hostilities.
Peskov was asked whether Moscow could take more active steps towards resolving the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. "It’s hard to imagine more active steps than we are currently taking," said the Kremlin representative.
Peskov also added that President Vladimir Putin is being informed about the calls directed to him regarding the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh. "Naturally, we report on all the appeals," he told reporters in response to a question about whether the president has seen the calls made by businessmen Ruben Vardanyan and Samvel Karapetyan, and whether there would be any response to them.
“It is also clear what the emotional background of such appeals is, considering that as long as the situation escalates, people continue to die, which is absolutely unacceptable,” Peskov noted.
