Attacks on Peaceful Civilians Leave No Doubt That the Aim of the War is the Annihilation of the Artsakh People: Artsakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh has issued a statement regarding the situation along the contact line of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan conflict.
In the statement, it is specifically mentioned: “Despite unsuccessful attempts to achieve military objectives and sustaining significant losses in personnel and military equipment, the armed forces of Azerbaijan, under the direct control and management of Turkey, continue with increased intensity to launch attacks on the peaceful population and civilian infrastructure of the Republic of Artsakh. Stepanakert, Shushi, Martakert, Martuni, Hadrut, and other towns of the republic are under massive rocket and bombardment attacks.
The incessant attacks on the peaceful population and civilian facilities leave no doubt that the real aim of the aggressive war unleashed by Turkey and Azerbaijan, with the support of militants from terrorist organizations from the Middle East, is the annihilation of the people of the Republic of Artsakh as a continuation of the Armenian Genocide policy.
We emphasize that the countries that provide military support to the criminal tripartite alliance, particularly those supplying offensive weapons and ammunition that target the civilian population and infrastructure, undoubtedly bear their share of responsibility for the ongoing crime against humanity.
In particular, it is a glaring fact that arms supplies are occurring amid expanding military aggression, at a time when the entire civilized world condemns the use of force and calls for an immediate cessation of military operations.
We call on the governments of relevant countries to stop fueling the aggression against Artsakh by rogue states and international terrorism, to halt the supply of weapons to the criminal tripartite alliance, and to refrain from allowing their territory and airspace to be used for military supplies to Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Once again, we urge the international community to recognize the independence of the Republic of Artsakh, which will help eliminate the existential threat hanging over the people of Artsakh, put an end to the inhumane aggression against Artsakh, and restore long-term peace and stability in the South Caucasus region.
