You Are Invited to Fight for Your Homeland in a Life-or-Death Battle: Pashinyan's Call to Arms
My call is as follows: the boys who were discharged from the army in the last year should present themselves at the central gathering point, without causing a large crowd. This will be organized on-site. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a live broadcast on his Facebook page.
He specifically noted: “I want to invite these people and sincerely say that they are not being summoned for combat duty or to perform service; they are being invited to fight for their homeland in a life-or-death battle. I want to say that those who still have their military uniforms should come in those uniforms along with the necessary documents.
I want to emphasize that since there was no mobilization plan for this segment, meaning the state has not prepared to enlist our boys from this segment, I am now asking them to do this voluntarily. I also ask those who have military clothing, winter jackets, and if anyone else has helmets or bulletproof vests, to please send them and concentrate them at the central gathering point.
I have given the necessary instructions to ensure that all safety measures are observed. Perhaps their transportation will be coordinated on the way; I won’t go into detail so that everything happens safely. They do not fall under the mobilization resources because the law does not provide for them, but today I am asking them to volunteer to enlist.
As I said, this is a new Sardarapat, and we must stand side by side, shoulder to shoulder, crush the enemy's spine, and win. By the way, there are 10,000 such boys in Armenia, and if at least half of those 10,000 respond to this call, it will be one of the most combat-ready parts of our army.”
