Defense Army Will Not Target Enemy Military Facilities in Talishstan and Lezgistan, Says Artsakh President
The Defense Army, as a sign of our goodwill, will not target enemy military facilities located in Talishstan and Lezgistan. This was stated by the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, on his Facebook page.
The post is presented below:
"Dear Talish and Lezgian brothers and sisters,
We are closely monitoring the internal political developments in Azerbaijan, particularly the growing protests in the Talish and Lezgian inhabited towns and villages of Azerbaijan, where the population is boycotting the conscription into the army and obeying Aliyev's orders to wage war against Artsakh and Armenia. The protests have been triggered by the presence of hundreds of Talish and Lezgian victims. The Azerbaijani political clan’s practice of using them as live targets and its method of eliminating them has not changed over decades.
We value the deep understanding of our issues by the indigenous peoples of Azerbaijan—the Talish and Lezgian communities—and their constant demonstrations of sympathy. I want to assure you that we stand by the just struggle of the Talish and Lezgian peoples and are ready to support your ultimate goal of achieving independence by all possible means.
The Defense Army, as a sign of our goodwill, will not target enemy military facilities located in Talishstan and Lezgistan," he wrote.
