Karabakh Telecom Management Becomes State-Owned and Free Until January 1
In Artsakh, the management of Karabakh Telecom LLC has become state-owned and will be free until January 1. The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, has issued a statement in which he specifically states:
“Dear compatriots, I have made the decision today to limit the management powers of Karabakh Telecom closed joint-stock company, delegating them to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure of the Republic of Artsakh. This does not mean that we are violating property rights; however, given the serious issues recorded in the operator's work amid the existing wartime situation and the strategic importance of the communications sector for a country and people at war, we are making the management state-owned.”
“I am confident that under martial law, we will be able to ensure uninterrupted communication in the territory of the Republic of Artsakh while adhering to all legislative requirements.”
“I would like to note that all services in the communications sector will be free until January 1, and the promises made to our society regarding significant reductions in tariffs, improvement in communication quality, and development will all be implemented in due course.”
It is noteworthy that we reported yesterday that the roaming tariff for Armenia-Artsakh has changed, now costing 5 drams per minute.
