Online Petition Launched on White House Website to Remove Turkey from NATO
An online petition has been launched on the White House's We the People section to condemn Azerbaijani aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh and to request Turkey's removal from NATO.
According to Armenpress, the petition states that Turkey and Azerbaijan have started a war against Armenia and Artsakh with their mercenary ISIS terrorists, aiming to annihilate the Armenian nation and its ancestral lands. It also mentions that Artsakh has been part of Armenia for centuries.
The petition addressed to U.S. President Donald Trump calls for the following actions:
- Remove Turkey from NATO and designate it as a state sponsor of terrorism.
- Prohibit Turkey from using NATO-owned weapons, including UAV bombers, nuclear weapons, and F-35 fighter jets.
- Close U.S. military bases in Turkey.
- Implement economic sanctions against Turkey and Azerbaijan.
- Stop military assistance to Turkey and Azerbaijan while supporting Armenia.
- Recognize the independence of Artsakh.
- Stop Turkey and Azerbaijan's military crimes against Armenia.
To receive a response from the White House regarding the petition, 100,000 online signatures are required. As of now, 71,623 individuals have signed, and an additional 28,377 signatures are needed by October 28.
