Monks of the Mother See Volunteer to Go to Artsakh
During a meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council held at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, it was reported that several monks and clergy have volunteered to go to Artsakh.
His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch of All Armenians, stated that he is in constant contact with the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, and the spiritual leader of the Armenian Armed Forces, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan.
In connection with the military actions unleashed by Azerbaijan, the Supreme Patriarch has sent messages to state leaders, heads of sister Churches, religious leaders, and heads of various interchurch organizations.
During the meeting, directives were issued regarding pastoral care for wounded soldiers and families of the deceased, emphasizing the cooperation of dioceses with relevant agencies of the Armenian Ministry of Defense.
It was decided to transfer $500,000 from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to the Armenian General Benevolent Union in support of Artsakh.
