You Rushed, Arriving Sooner Than Your Father to Your Immortal Friends
The American University of Armenia mourns the death of its beloved student Shavarsh Muradyan, who heroically lost his life defending his homeland. This information was reported on the university's Facebook page.
“For his heroic participation in the April 2016 war, Shavarsh was awarded the Marshal Baghramyan and Aghbyur Serob medals, as well as a commemorative medal from the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. In 2017, Shavarsh returned to the university to continue his studies and become a qualified specialist. Being a hero, he voluntarily went to the front lines, as this latest conflict had already escalated into war, and he continued to fight for his homeland. Even from the front lines, he served his country with high spirits. His death is a huge loss for our community and our country,” the university said.
“What can I say, I can't find the words. Shavarsh was a unique guy. He was approachable and respectful to everyone. Whenever someone was upset about something, he would come over, ask questions, and definitely find a way to help,” said Karine Vardanyan, Shavarsh Muradyan's teacher, in an interview with Aravot.am.
Interestingly, Shavarsh had not told his family that he was leaving for the front lines. His younger brother is also serving in Artsakh. Shavarsh was the son of Martun Muradyan, a well-known freedom fighter and commander of a combat unit in Kapana. User Vahagn Hambardzoumian wrote on Facebook, “Martun, I bow to the immortal memory of your son… Rest in peace, HERO boy, it’s such a pity, you rushed and arrived at your IMMORTAL FRIENDS sooner than your father…”
