Sakashvili Should Be Stripped of Honorary Doctorate from Yerevan State University, Arayik Harutyunyan

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia, Arayik Harutyunyan, has announced that he will request the scientific council of Yerevan State University to strip former Georgian President Mikheil Sakashvili of his honorary doctorate title.

Harutyunyan made the announcement on his Facebook page, stating: "Sakashvili should be stripped of his honorary doctorate from Yerevan State University. Today, I have decided to appeal to the scientific council of Yerevan State University to revoke the honorary doctorate from former Georgian President Mikheil Sakashvili for encouraging actions by Azerbaijan that are directed against the rights of our compatriots to self-identify, live, and create on their own land through his statements and indirectly supporting these actions."
