Data on Civilian Casualties Due to Azerbaijani Targeting Presented by the Artsakh Human Rights Defender
The Artsakh Human Rights Defender has presented data on civilian casualties caused by Azerbaijani targeting from September 27 to the present, including today's incidents in Martakert. My condolences go out to the families of all the deceased, and Azerbaijani crimes must be rightfully assessed, with the perpetrators held accountable.
Artsakh and the Armenian people are strong on our native land. It is important to note that on September 27, Azerbaijani armed forces initiated a large-scale attack in Artsakh, also targeting the civilian population.
The Artsakh military has downed 7 helicopters, 84 drones, and 169 units of armored vehicles, mostly tanks, as well as one aircraft, 82 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, one TOS-1A heavy flamethrower system, and one each of Grad and Uragan multiple rocket launchers.
The enemy has suffered over 920 fatalities, including 180 in the Karvachar direction, and more than 2,100 injuries. On the Armenian side, preliminary data indicate 80 deaths and around 200 injuries, of which about 120 are still receiving treatment, while others have recovered and returned to service.
The Azerbaijani Armed Forces have also targeted the military and civilian infrastructure of both Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, resulting in one civilian casualty in the Vardenis region, three in Martakert, and two in Martuni (a grandmother and her grandchild). A state of martial law was declared in Armenia and Artsakh on September 27.
