What Punishment Awaits for Evading Conscription Service

The Criminal Code's Article 327 establishes the penalties for evading mandatory military service or alternative service, training exercises, or mobilization service.
Thus:
- Evading the next call-up for mandatory military or alternative service, training exercises, or mobilization service, without having legitimate grounds established by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, is punishable by detention for up to 2 months or imprisonment for up to 3 years.
- The same act, committed by:
- inflicting bodily harm on oneself or simulating an illness,
- forging documents or through other forms of deceit,
- Acts outlined in the first or second parts of this article, committed during a state of martial law, wartime, or in combat conditions, are punishable by imprisonment for 4-8 years.
