Azerbaijan Expands Military Operations Zone to Include Armenian Territory, Says Foreign Ministry
The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding Azerbaijan's attempted aggression towards the Republic of Armenia.
“This morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia released a statement indicating that Azerbaijan is spreading disinformation, preparing the ground for combat operations in the direction of the Vardenis region of the Republic of Armenia. Just minutes later, the Azerbaijani armed forces struck military and civilian infrastructures in the Vardenis region, including targeting civilian populations, resulting in the death of one civilian,” the statement highlighted.
“Despite the ongoing calls from the international community for the cessation of military operations, Azerbaijan, with active encouragement and military-political support from Turkey, is expanding the zone of military operations to include the territory of the Republic of Armenia. The ongoing attempts by Azerbaijan to jeopardize regional security and peace will be met with a proportional military-political response from the Republic of Armenia and the Artsakh Republic,” the statement concluded.
