UN Secretary-General Calls on Azerbaijan to Cease Hostilities

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has held a phone conversation with the President of Azerbaijan, urging an immediate cessation of hostilities and calling for the direction of OSCE observers to the conflict zone. This was reported by РИА Новости.

In the early hours of September 27, the Azerbaijani side, in violation of all possible international agreements and with the active support of the Turkish army, launched an attack along the entire length of the contact line with Artsakh, utilizing all types of weapons at its disposal, including air force.

The Azerbaijani army has also shelled the state border of the Republic of Armenia. After fierce battles, the Armenian forces managed to thwart the adversary's primary objectives and continue to advance their successes by pushing the enemy back.

As a result of Azerbaijan's actions, 31 soldiers were killed on September 27, and 27 on September 28. Two civilians have also been reported dead due to strikes on the civilian population, one of whom was a 9-year-old girl. Current reports indicate that the number of injured is close to 200.
