President of Artsakh Posthumously Awards 'Combat Service' Medal to 46 Soldiers

The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, has signed decrees posthumously awarding the 'Combat Service' medal to 46 soldiers of the Artsakh Defense Army for their bravery and courage in defending the state border during the large-scale military operations unleashed by the adversary on September 27, this year.

In the early morning of September 27, the Azerbaijani side, violating all possible international agreements, launched an attack along the entire contact line with Artsakh, with the active support of the Turkish military, using all types of weaponry at their disposal, including air power. The Azerbaijani army also shelled the state border of the Republic of Armenia.

After fierce battles, the Armenian forces were able to thwart the main objectives of the adversary and continue to develop their successes to repel the enemy. As a result of Azerbaijan's actions, 31 soldiers were killed on September 27, and 27 more on September 28. Civilian casualties included two civilians, one of whom was a 9-year-old girl. According to the latest reports, the number of injured is close to 200.
